Bread Dumpling (Semmelknodel) Recipe
- 5 c. Rolls, cut in small pcs.
- 1/2 c. Butter or possibly Margarine
- 1 x Onion Medium size cut small pcs
- 2 x Tabls Parsley minced.
- 1 x Egg
- 2 c. Water
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 1/2 c. Flour.
- Saute/fry diced rolls, Onions and Parsley in butter till bread is crisply toasted.
- Beat egg, water and salt till frothy , Blend gradually the flour.
- Add in the saute/fry bread.
- Mix thoroughly.
- Refrigerate2 hrs to stiffen.
- With floured hands, shape mix to the size of oranges.
- Lower carefully into a big kettle of boiling salted water.
- Cover and cook gently for 10 min, Don't open lid and peek.
- Drain and serve with Beef stew .
