BBQ Chicken Burger
- 1 pound Ground Chicken Breast
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1/2 teaspoons Black Pepper
- 1/2 teaspoons Salt
- 1/4 cups Favorite Barbecue Sauce Plus More For Serving
- 2 ounces, weight Sharp Cheddar Cheese, Diced Into 1/4" Cubes
- 4 whole Whole Wheat Hamburger Buns
- 1 cup Homemade Coleslaw (your Favorite Recipe Or See Mine On Related Blog Link)
- Heat grill to medium high.
- Place chicken into large mixing bowl and add spices, barbecue sauce and diced cheese.
- Mix together until just combined and ingredients are evenly distributed.
- Do not over-mix!
- Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into patties.
- Place a thumbprint into the middle of each burger, to help prevent shrinkage and even cooking.
- Put burgers onto the hot grill.
- Grill burgers for 7 minutes per side.
- Remover burgers to a clean plate.
- Allow burgers to rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
- Serve on top of bun (or bunless for low-carb or gluten-free) and top burger with 1-2 teaspoons of additional barbecue sauce and 1/4 cup coleslaw on each burger.
