Country Skillet
- 1 lb fully cooked kielbasa or 1 lb Polish sausage, cut into 1/2-inch slices
- 12 cup chopped onion
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 12 cups water
- 10 ounces cream of celery soup, undiluted
- 12 teaspoon dried basil
- 14 teaspoon dried thyme
- 14 teaspoon pepper
- 10 ounces frozen chopped broccoli, thawed
- 4 ounces sliced mushrooms, drained
- 1 cup incooked instant rice
- 14 cup grated parmesan cheese
- In a large skillet, cook sausage and onion in oil until onion is tender; drain.
- Combine the water, soup, basil, thyme, and pepper; add to skillet.
- Stir in the broccoli and mushrooms.
- Bring to a boil.
- Stir in the rice.
- Cover and remove from the heat.
- Let stand for 5-7 minutes or until rice is tender.
- Sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
