Beef Stew with Mashed Potatoes

  1. Heat oil in large saucepan on medium-high heat.
  2. Add meat; cook 6 min.
  3. or until seared and browned, stirring occasionally.
  4. Add onions; cook 4 min.
  5. or until softened.
  6. Add wine; scrape browned bits from bottom of pan.
  7. Cook and stir 2 min.
  8. Meanwhile, mix cornstarch and water in small bowl; add to pan.
  9. Add barbecue sauce and broth.
  10. Bring to boil; cover.
  11. Simmer on low heat 25 min.
  12. or until meat is tender.
  13. Add carrots; cook 10 min.
  14. Add peppers; cook 5 min.
  15. or until vegetables are crisp-tender.
  16. Meanwhile, mash hot cooked potatoes with cream cheese spread until blended.
  17. Serve with stew.
