Chocolate Toffee Sauce

  1. In a heavy saucepan, whisk together cream, brown sugar, corn syrup, butter and salt.
  2. Butter will be lumpy, but dont worry.
  3. Place saucepan over medium heat and bring to a simmer, whisking constantly.
  4. If mixture starts to boil rapidly, reduce heat to maintain a simmer.
  5. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat.
  7. Whisk in chocolate and vanilla until smooth.
  8. Spoon hot toffee sauce over warm cupcakes and serve immediately.
