Sweet And Sour Stir-Fried Beef

  1. Trim excess fat from beef; cut beef with grain into 2-inch strips.
  2. Cut strips across grain into 1/8-inch slices.
  3. Mix cornstarch and 1 tablespoon water.
  4. Heat oil in 12-inch skillet or wok over medium-high heat until hot.
  5. Add beef and onion; cook and stir until beef is brown, about 3 minutes.
  6. Stir in pineapple, 1/2 cup water, the sugar, vinegar, instant bouillon and soy sauce. Heat to boiling.
  7. Stir in cornstarch mixture.
  8. Cook and stir 1 minute. Stir in green pepper and tomatoes; cook and stir 1 minute. Serve with hot, cooked rice.
  9. Makes 5 servings.
