Delicious Taco Bake
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 12 cup chopped onion
- 1 14 ounces taco seasoning
- 34 cup water
- 1 34-2 cups flour
- 14 ounce fast rise yeast
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 teaspoons chopped onions
- 34 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 23 cup warm water
- 12 cup crushed corn chips
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 cup lettuce
- 1 12 cups chopped tomatoes
- Brown ground beef with 1/2 cup onion.
- Add taco seasoning and 3/4 cup water.
- Simmer for 25 minutes.
- Crust:.
- In medium bowl, combine 1 cup flour, yeast, sugar, onion, and salt; mix well.
- Add very warm water (120* to 130*) and oil to flour mixture.
- Mix by hand until almost smooth.
- Stir in corn chips and enough remaining flour to make a stiff batter.
- Spread in well-greased, 10-inch pie pan, forming a rim around edge.
- Cover; let rise in warm place, about 10 minutes with quick rise yeast, 20 for regular yeast.
- Spread meat over dough.
- Bake at 375* for 30 to 35 minutes, until edge is crisp and light golden brown.
- Sprinkle on toppings.
