The Best Pie Crust
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 23 cup butter flavor shortening
- 4 -5 tablespoons cold water
- Mix flour and salt in large bowl.
- Cut in shortening to resemble coarse bread crumbs.
- Add water, one tablespoon at a time, until dough comes together and is soft but not sticky.
- Roll out on floured surface.
- Bake as per directions for pie.
- If you need a pre-baked pie crust, bake in oven at 325 degrees for 10-20 minutes, until golden.
