Hollis' Homemade Spaghetti Sauce
- 3 lb. ground meat
- 4 large onions, chopped
- 15 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 large bell pepper, chopped
- 3 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
- 3 (12 oz.) cans tomato sauce
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. chopped basil
- 2 tsp. oregano
- 4 bay leaves
- 4 Tbsp. Italian seasoning
- salt, red and black pepper
- Tabasco to taste
- Saute onions, garlic, bell pepper and tomato paste; cook until onions are clear.
- Add tomato sauce, refilling the cans with water; add to mixture.
- Add ground meat, breaking up as you add. Add seasonings and sugar; season to taste.
- Cook at least one hour or longer, up to two or three hours on low fire.
- Serve over thin spaghetti noodles.
- Serves 15 to 20 people.
