Spicy Skewered Beef
- 1/3 cup sesame seeds
- 2 green onions, minced
- 1/8 qt. garlic, minced
- 6 tbsp. soy sauce
- 2 tbsp. sesame oil
- 1 tbsp. all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp. sugar
- Crushed red pepper flakes, to taste
- 1 lb. beef sirloin steak, thinly sliced
- 1/4 lb. blanched asparagus, cut into 1-inch pieces
- Toast the sasame seeds in a pan over medium heat.
- Put them in a plastic bag and crush with a rolling pin.
- In a bowl, combine the seeds, onions, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, flour, sugar.
- Mix well; add crushed red pepper flakes.
- Marinate the beef slices in the mixture for 15 minutes.
- Remove beef from marinade and thread onto skewers, alternately with the blanched asparagus.
- Place on hot grill to cook very quickly about 2 minutes each side.
