Easier Caramel Brownies

  1. Mix brownie mix according to package (the oil, egg and water was what mine called for) adding nuts.
  2. spread half into a greased 9x9 square pan.
  3. bake at 325 for 20 minutes.
  4. meanwhile, melt caramels over med-low heat with evaporated milk until smooth.
  5. pour over partially baked brownie, spread remaining batter over it and bake 30 more minutes or until done.
  6. cool 30 minutes and refrigerate 1 hour.
  7. serve at room temp.
  8. great with ice cream!
