Boysenberry Bars Recipe

  2. Bar cookies are easy to prepare because they are spread in a pan and baked all at one time.
  3. They should be cooled before cutting.
  4. This is such an easy recipe-but it tastes like you spent hrs preparing it.
  5. It's great for brunch and coffee klatches!
  6. Preheat oven to 375 .
  7. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt and oatmeal.
  8. Cut in all but two Tbsp.
  9. butter.
  10. Press 1/2 of flour mix proportionately into a greased 13 x 9-inch pan.
  11. Spread jam over batter in pan, then top with remaining flour mix.
  12. Dot with two Tbsp.
  13. butter and with minced pecans.
  14. Bake at 375 for 20-25 min.
  15. Let cold completely, then cut into rectangles.
  16. Variation: Use other types of jam, such as apricot.
  17. Yield: 24.
