Almond Tarator Recipe
- 1 c. Blanched slivered almonds
- 1 c. Packed fresh white breadcrumbs
- 3/4 c. Water, (about)
- 3 Tbsp. Fresh lemon juice
- 2 x Garlic cloves
- 1/2 c. Extra virgin olive oil
- Finely grind almonds in processor.
- Add in breadcrumbs, 1/4 c. water, lemon juice and garlic and process till thick and smooth, about 2 min.
- With machine running, gradually add in extra virgin olive oil through feed tube.
- Fold in sufficient water to make thick creamy sauce.
- Season to taste with salt.
- (Can be made 2 days ahead.
- Cover and chill.
- Bring to room temperature before serving.)
- Makes About 2 C..
