Carrot Pie

  1. Preheat oven to 400F For Crust: place the 11/4 cups flour in a medium bowl.
  2. Using pastry blender, cut in cream cheese and butter until pieces are pea size.
  3. Stir in the egg.
  4. Stir enough of the water to moisten mixture.
  5. Shape dough into ball.
  6. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough into a 12 inch circle.
  7. Transfer to a 9 inch deep dish pie plate.
  8. Trim pastry to 1/2 inch beyond edge of pie plate.
  9. Fold under extra pastry and crimp edge; set aside.
  10. For filling: In a large skillet cook, sausage, carrot, broccoli, onion, pepper and garlic until sausage is brown.
  11. Drain off fat.
  12. Place sausage mixture in a large bowl, stir in eggs, soup, cheddar cheese, chilie peppers, the 3 tablespoons of flour, Worcestershire sauce, cumin, black pepper.
  13. Spoon filling into pastry lined pie plate, spreading evenly.
  14. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until set.
  15. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
