Touchdown Cake
- 1 (20 ounce) package devil's food cake mix (Duncan Hines' Moist Deluxe preferred)
- 3 eggs (or as called for by your cake mix)
- 13 cup oil (or as called for by your cake mix)
- 1 13 cups water (or as called for by your cake mix)
- 1 (15 ounce) container chocolate frosting (Duncan Hines' Creamy Home-style Classic preferred)
- 1 (2/3 ounce) packagewhite glossy decorating gel
- Preheat oven to 350F
- Grease and flour 10-inch round cake pan.
- Prepare cake according to package directions for basic recipe.
- Bake at 350F 45 to 50 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Cut cake and remove 2-inch slice from center.
- Arrange cake as shown.
- Spread chocolate frosting on sides and top of cake.
- Make white frosting laces on football, using decorating gel.
