Patchwork Cookies
- 1 c. (2 sticks) butter
- 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
- Cream butter; gradually add sugar until blended.
- Beat in egg and vanilla.
- Blend in flour.
- Spread evenly in well-buttered 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch jelly roll pan.
- Bake in preheated 350u0b0 oven for 15 to 18 minutes until lightly browned.
- Remove from oven; quickly spread chocolate pieces over baked cookie base.
- Return to oven 2 to 3 minutes to soften chocolate.
- Remove from oven; immediately spread chocolate evenly over base.
- Make off in squares and top with the following:
- rainbow sprinkles, chopped nuts, coconut, crushed peppermint candy, etc.
- Chill just until frosting is set.
- Cut into squares.
- Arranged patchwork style on serving tray.
