Grandma Jackson'S Christmas Cinnamon Rolls

  1. On lightly floured board, roll dough into a 1/4-inch thick, oblong shape.
  2. Melt Crisco and spread on dough.
  3. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
  4. May sprinkle with raisins, if desired.
  5. Roll up as a jelly roll, starting with long side.
  6. Seal the seam by pinching the dough together.
  7. Cut roll in 1-inch slices (may use thread to cut dough).
  8. Place on lightly greased cookie sheets, approximately 8 rolls per sheet.
  9. Let rise in a warm place until doubled in bulk, about 1 hour.
  10. Bake at 325u0b0 for 10 to 15 minutes. Let cool.
  11. Ice with powdered sugar icing.
  12. Garnish center with a cherry.
