Grandma Jackson'S Christmas Cinnamon Rolls
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. margarine
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 2 pkg. dry yeast
- 1 egg
- 4 c. flour
- 1/4 c. Crisco
- 1/4 c. sugar
- cinnamon to taste (approximately 2 to 3 tsp.)
- 1/2 to 1 c. raisins (if desired)
- On lightly floured board, roll dough into a 1/4-inch thick, oblong shape.
- Melt Crisco and spread on dough.
- Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
- May sprinkle with raisins, if desired.
- Roll up as a jelly roll, starting with long side.
- Seal the seam by pinching the dough together.
- Cut roll in 1-inch slices (may use thread to cut dough).
- Place on lightly greased cookie sheets, approximately 8 rolls per sheet.
- Let rise in a warm place until doubled in bulk, about 1 hour.
- Bake at 325u0b0 for 10 to 15 minutes. Let cool.
- Ice with powdered sugar icing.
- Garnish center with a cherry.
