Slo Rise Bread
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water (105~ to 115~)
- 2 c. cold water
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. oil
- 1 c. nonfat dry milk
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- approximately 6 1/2 c. flour
- In a 5-quart bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water; let stand 5 minutes.
- Add cold water, powdered milk, oil, sugar and salt; stir well.
- Gradually add about 6 cups flour, stirring well after each addition so no flour pockets will remain at the bottom of the bowl. Dough should feel as if ready to knead.
- Cover with plastic wrap; let stand in draft-free place overnight.
- Turn dough out on floured surface, adding flour if necessary.
- Divide in half and shape to fit 2 greased 9 x 3-inch pans.
- Cover with plastic wrap; let rise until doubled.
- Bake at 400u0b0 for 25 minutes.
- Remove from pans; cool on rack.
