Quark with Honeyed Apples and Raisin Bread
- 1 tbsp. butter
- 1 Granny Smith apple
- 1 tbsp. honey
- 6 sprig thyme (optional)
- 4 slice raisin bread
- 1/4 c. quark (or fromage blanc)
- In a 10-inch saute pan, melt butter over medium-high heat.
- Add apple slices, honey, and 2 sprigs thyme (if using).
- Cook, stirring often, until apples have softened and browned, 6 to 8 minutes.
- (Take special care not to burn the honey.)
- Toast bread, and spread each slice with 1 to 2 tablespoons quark.
- Top with cooked apples, divided evenly among the slices; drizzle with more honey and garnish with remaining thyme sprigs.
