Out Of This World Rolls

  1. Soften yeast in 1/4 cup warm water.
  2. Let stand 10 minutes. Combine dissolved yeast, eggs, 2 1/2 cups flour, 1 cup warm water, shortening, sugar and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Beat until smooth. Add remaining flour to make a soft dough.
  4. Cover; let rise until double in bulk.
  5. Punch down and refrigerate overnight.
  6. Three hours before baking, roll out as desired.
  7. For dinner rolls, divide dough in half.
  8. Roll each half into a 1/2-inch thick rectangle.
  9. Spread with soft butter.
  10. Starting with long side, roll up jelly-roll style.
  11. Cut in 1-inch slices.
  12. Place in greased muffin tins.
  13. Rub tops lightly with soft butter.
  14. Let rise until light.
  15. Bake at 350u0b0 for 12 minutes.
  16. Make 2 dozen rolls.
