Chocolate-Covered Cherry Cookies
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 (10 oz.) jar maraschino cherries (about 48)
- 1/2 c. Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 c. cocoa powder
- 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 c. softened oleo
- 1 egg
- 1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips (semi-sweet)
- In mixer bowl, beat together oleo and sugar until fluffy.
- Add egg and vanilla.
- Gradually add dry ingredients; beat until well blended.
- Shape dough into 1-inch balls.
- Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
- Press down center of dough with thumb.
- Drain maraschino cherries, reserving juice.
- Place a cherry in the center of each cookie.
