Raggedy Ann Brittle

  1. Combine cornflakes, raisins, and nuts in a large pan and place them in the oven to warm.
  2. (It is important that the cornflakes be crisp and whole and the raisings dry without adding moisture).
  3. Boil the other ingredients until the syrup reaches 300 or spins a hard brittle thread.
  4. Pour the syrup slowly over the cornflake mixture, blending lightly but thoroughly.
  5. Spread out thinly on wax paper.
  6. Avoid packing.
  7. Cool and break or cut into pieces.
