Italian-Flavored Stir-Fried Celery and Chirimen Jako (Semi-dried tiny sardines)
- 1 small stalk Celery
- 2 tbsp Chirimen jako (semi-dried salted tiny sardines)
- 1/2 tbsp Olive oil
- 1 dash Dried mixed herbs
- 1 dash Salt
- Cut the celery diagonally into 1 cm-wide slices.
- Cut up some of the tender leaves closest to the stalk in the same way.
- This is about 2 tablespoons of chirimen jako.
- Heat the olive oil in a frying pan, and stir fry the chirimen jako over low heat until crispy.
- It tends to spit, so do this while shaking the pan.
- Add the celery and stir-fry until the leaves are wilted.
- Add the mixed herbs and salt.
- You can use any kind of mixed herbs you like.
- This is delicious served on rice.
