Chocolate Chip Toffee Bars Recipe
- 1 pkg. yellow cake mix
- 2/3 c. butter, softened
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 3 Large eggs, separated
- 1 tbsp. sugar, granulated
- 1 (6 ounce.) pkg. chocolate chips
- 1/3 c. nuts
- Beat 1/2 cake mix (dry), butter, brown sugar, and egg yolks in large bowl till smooth.
- Stir in remaining cake mix.
- Press proportionately into ungreased cookie sheet.
- Beat egg whites in small bowl till foamy.
- Beat in granulated sugar gradually.
- Continue beating till soft peaks form.
- Spread over layer in pan.
- Sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 min till top is golden.
- Run knife around edges while hot to loosen sides.
- Cold and cut into bars.
