Black Cat Cookies
- 2/3 c. Crisco
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. cocoa
- 2 eggs
- 2/3 c. sour cream
- 2 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. mini chocolate chips
- 1 c. coarsely chopped almonds
- 1/2 c. candy corn (for decoration)
- Cream shortening, sugar and cocoa until smooth.
- Stir in eggs and sour cream.
- Blend the flour, baking soda and salt.
- Add to the creamed mixture.
- Mix well and fold in the chocolate chips and almonds.
- Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a lightly greased baking sheet.
- Flatten only slightly with a fork to shape into a circle. Bake at 375u0b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
- Remove from baking sheet immediately.
- Press candy cane into cookies for eyes and ears of cat.
- Makes 5 dozen.
