Vanilla Butternut Cake
- 2 sticks margarine
- 3 c. cake flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 3 eggs, separated and whites beaten until stiff
- 3 tsp. vanilla butternut flavoring
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- Heat oven to
- 325u0b0.
- Slightly
- grease and flour 3 pans. Have ingredients
- at
- room
- temperature.
- Creamtargarine and sugar thoroughly, then
- mix
- soda and salt in buttermilk until foamy, adding
- alternately
- with
- flour
- and mixing well after each addition.
- Add
- vanilla-butternut flavoring and egg yolks one at a time,
- mixing
- after each.tently fold in beaten egg whites. Bake
- 30 to 40 minutes.
