The Vicar'S Irish Soda Bread

  1. Blend together all dry ingredients.
  2. Make a well in the middle and add milk and sour cream.
  3. Blend until it holds together.
  4. Knead in the bowl about 4 minutes.
  5. Shape dough into a ball and then flatten it until it is about 3 inches high and slightly rounded on top.
  6. Place loaf on greased cookie sheet.
  7. Score a cross about 1/2-inch deep on top.
  8. Lightly rub top of loaf with milk.
  9. Bake for 45 minutes in preheated 400u0b0 oven.
  10. Flip loaf over onto its top and bake another 5 minutes.
  11. Wrap in a damp dish towel and stand loaf on its side to cool.
