Slow Cooker Carolina BBQ

  1. Start by putting your pork butt in your crock pot and season it generously with salt and pepper on each side.
  2. Then add in cider vinegar and liquid smoke.
  3. The liquid smoke will allow you to achieve that smoked flavor that comes from a smoker, all in your crock pot!
  4. Cook on high for 6 1/2 hours.
  5. Once your meat is cooked through and super tender, shred it with forks.
  6. My girl Paula suggests shredding it by hand but after cooking this stuff for 6 1/2 hours, its hot.
  7. No way was that happening.
  8. Now that the meat is shredded, add in the brown sugar, hot sauce, cayenne and crushed red pepper.
  9. Mix thoroughly and cook for another hour.
  10. Add a little bit of BBQ sauce and some chile infused vinegar, and youre going to be in BBQ heaven!
  11. Note: this stuff was has a good kick to it so feel free to alter the seasonings to your taste.
