Great Pound Cake

  1. In large bowl, put softened butter and cream cheese; blend together until creamy.
  2. Add eggs, one at a time; add sugar to this.
  3. Sift together flour, salt and baking powder; slowly add these dry ingredients to the bowl.
  4. Mix together well.
  5. Add flavoring last.
  6. Pour batter (very stiff) into 1 greased and floured tube pan or two loaf pans.
  7. With knife, cut through cake batter in a circle.
  8. Do not touch bottom of pan.
  9. Place in center of rack and bake 1/2 hour at 350u0b0.
  10. Turn oven down to 325u0b0 and bake 1/2 hour more.
  11. Cool and remove from pan.
  12. Serve plain or add your favoring topping (optional).
