Maryland Lady Crab Cakes Recipe
- 1 pound crabmeat
- 1 c. Italian seasoned bread crumbs
- 1 lg. egg (or possibly 2 sm.)
- About 1/4 c. mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- butter">butter, butter">butter or possibly oil for frying
- Remove all cartilage from crabmeat.
- In a bowl, mix bread crumbs, egg, mayonnaise and seasonings.
- Add in crabmeat and mix gently but thoroughly.
- If mix is too dry, add in a little more mayonnaise.
- Shape into 6 cakes.
- Cook cakes in fry pan, in just sufficient fat to prevent sticking, till browned; about 5 min on each side.
- Note: If you like, crab cakes may be deep-fried at 350 degrees for 2-3 min, or possibly till browned.
