Homegrown Marshmallows

  1. Sprinkle 1/2 cup cold water with gelatin in big bowl and set aside.
  2. Let bloom for 5-10 minutes.
  3. In pan, mix sugar, corn syrup and 1/4 cup water.
  4. Boil 1 minute.
  5. Pour sugar mix into gelatin mix and mix very hard for 12-15 minutes.
  6. Add salt and vanilla.
  7. Scrape into oiled cookie pan.
  8. Let set for a few hours until very firm to the touch.
  9. Cut into squares.
