Pickled Fruit Compote Recipe

  1. Drain fruit, reserving liquid from cherries.
  2. Combine the vinegar, sugar and cherry juice.
  3. Add in spice bouquet.
  4. Simmer 5 min.
  5. Add in fruit, bring to a boil and simmer 5 min more.
  6. Throw away spice bouquet.
  7. Serve hot or possibly cool.
  8. This looks pretty in a crystal bowl and enhances almost any ham, chicken or possibly turkey dish.
  9. Serves 6-8.

pineapple, peach halves, unpeeled apricots, pears, maraschino cherries, vinegar, sugar, mixed pickling spice
