Tea Cakes

  1. Cream butter and shortening in a large mixing bowl; gradually add sugar, beating well.
  2. Add eggs and milk; beat well.
  3. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together in a small mixing bowl. Gradually add to creamed mixture, stirring well after each addition.
  4. Shape dough into a ball.
  5. Wrap in waxed paper and chill at least 30 minutes.
  6. Shape dough into 1-inch balls.
  7. Place about 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet.
  8. Flatten with palm of hand.
  9. Sprinkle with sugar; bake at 325u0b0 for 15 to 20 minutes. Cool on wire rack.
  10. Yields 6 dozen.
