Brownie Angel Pie

  1. For the meringue crust, beat egg whites, salt and cream of tartar until a it forms a stiff froth.
  2. Add the sugar gradually, until the mixture is very stiff and the sugar is dissolved.
  3. Fold in wafer crumbs, pecans and vanilla.
  4. Spread in a greased 9 inch pie plate pressing the mixture up the sides slightly to form a shell.
  5. Bake in 325F oven about 35 minutes until dry.
  6. Cool.
  7. To make the filling you beat the whipping cream, cocoa, sugar and vanilla in a small bowl until stiff.
  8. Spread over pie.
  9. For a garnish sprinkle with grated chocolate.
