Registry Resort'S Brownies
- 3 1/4 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 1 c. butter
- 1/3 c. corn syrup
- 2 1/2 oz. unsweetened baking chocolate, melted
- 1 3/4 c. eggs (about 9 large)
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. cocoa powder
- 1 1/4 c. walnuts
- 1 3/4 to 2 c. cake flour
- Cream sugar, shortening and butter until light and fluffy. Add corn syrup.
- Mix and scrape down the sides of the bowl.
- Add melted chocolate; mix well.
- Scrape down the sides of the bowl again.
- Gradually add eggs, mixing well.
- Stir the remaining ingredients together; stir into the batter, mixing only until ingredients are incorporated.
- Pour batter into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes at 350u0b0.
- Makes 18 brownies.
