Pennsylvania Dutch Red Cabbage Recipe
- 2 tbsp. of veg. oil or possibly bacon drippings
- 4 c. of shredded red cabbage (1 med. sized)
- 2 c. cubed, unpared apples (2 med. sized)
- 1/4 c. packed brown sugar
- 1/4 c. cider vinegar
- 1 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Dash of pepper
- In skillet, heat oil.
- Add in remaining ingredients, cover tightly.
- Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally.
- For crisp cabbage, cook for 15 min; allow 25 to 30 min for more well done cabbage.
