Stuffed Date Drops
- 12 pecan or walnut halves
- 24 pitted whole dates
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/3 c. packed brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. margarine or butter
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/3 c. dairy sour cream
- 1 recipe Golden Frosting
- Cut pecans or walnuts lengthwise.
- Stuff dates with nuts; set aside.
- In a small bowl, combine flour, baking powder and soda; set aside.
- In a mixer bowl, beat brown sugar and margarine with electric mixer on medium speed until combined.
- Add egg yolk and beat on medium speed until combined.
- Add flour mixture and sour cream alternately, beating on low speed until combined.
- Stir in filled dates.
- Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls (1 date per cookie) onto a greased baking sheet.
- Bake in a 375u0b0 oven for 7 to 9 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove, cool.
- Frost with Golden Frosting.
- Makes 24.
