Cousin Corinda'S Wedding Cake
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 c. brown sugar
- 1 c. butter
- 6 eggs
- 1 lb. raisins
- 1 lb. currants
- 1 lb. dates
- 1/4 lb. citron
- 2 lemon rind and juice or 1 orange and 1 lemon
- 1/2 lb. walnut meats
- 1 c. sour milk
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 2 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. cloves
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 3 c. crackers, rolled fine
- 2 c. flour
- Mix like any other cake, flour fruits with the flour given. Wine or brandy may be added if desired.
- Bake two hours in a slow oven.
- I added lots more fruit of all kinds and nut meats and then added a wine glass of brandy and one of wine.
- But do not add any more flour even though you add the extra liquid.
