Best Ever Plain Ole Peas (Black Eyes) Recipe

  1. Sort and wash peas; place in a large Dutch oven.
  2. Cover with water 2 inches above peas; let soak 8 hrs.
  3. Drain.
  4. Add in 6 c. water and remaining ingredients.
  5. Bring to a boil; cover, reduce heat, and simmer 1 1/2 hrs.
