Sweet Summer Shortcakes
- 4 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2-1/3 cups all-purpose baking mix
- 1/2 cup milk
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted
- 1-1/2 cups thawed COOL WHIP Whipped Topping
- Heat oven to 425F.
- Toss strawberries with 1/4 cup sugar.
- Stir baking mix, milk, 3 Tbsp.
- sugar and butter in large bowl until mixture forms soft dough.
- Drop into 6 mounds, 2 inches apart, on baking sheet.
- Bake 10 to 12 min.
- or until golden brown.
- Cool slightly.
- Split shortcakes; fill and top with strawberries and COOL WHIP.
