Steamed Apple Cake Made in a Lekue Silicone Steamer
- 100 grams Pancake mix
- 60 ml Milk
- 30 grams Sugar
- 1 tbsp Vegetable oil
- 1/4 tsp Vegetable oil (for greasing the silicone steamer)
- 1/2 Apple
- 2 tbsp Sugar
- 5 grams Butter (or margarine)
- Peel the apple, and cut into 4 pieces lengthwise.
- Cut into about 5-mm thick slices.
- Add the apple, sugar, and butter into the silicone steamer.
- Cover with a lid, and microwave for 2 minutes and 30 seconds at 600 W. Leave it for 2 minutes to let it steam.
- Set aside 1/2 of the simmered apple for the topping.
- Add the pancake mix, sugar, milk, and vegetable oil into a bowl, and mix with a whisk.
- Add the remaining simmered apple from the silicone steamer and 1 tablespoon of the syrup into the Step 3 batter, and mix with a spatula.
- If there is some syrup left in the silicone steamer, wipe off with a paper towel, and grease with 1/4 teaspoon of vegetable oil.
- Pour the Step 4 batter into the Step 5 steamer, and top with the simmered apple which was set aside.
- Cover with the lid, and microwave for 2 minutes and 40 seconds, and let it steam for 3 minutes.
- If it's not cooked through, please increase the cooking time.
