Steamed Apple Cake Made in a Lekue Silicone Steamer

  1. Peel the apple, and cut into 4 pieces lengthwise.
  2. Cut into about 5-mm thick slices.
  3. Add the apple, sugar, and butter into the silicone steamer.
  4. Cover with a lid, and microwave for 2 minutes and 30 seconds at 600 W. Leave it for 2 minutes to let it steam.
  5. Set aside 1/2 of the simmered apple for the topping.
  6. Add the pancake mix, sugar, milk, and vegetable oil into a bowl, and mix with a whisk.
  7. Add the remaining simmered apple from the silicone steamer and 1 tablespoon of the syrup into the Step 3 batter, and mix with a spatula.
  8. If there is some syrup left in the silicone steamer, wipe off with a paper towel, and grease with 1/4 teaspoon of vegetable oil.
  9. Pour the Step 4 batter into the Step 5 steamer, and top with the simmered apple which was set aside.
  10. Cover with the lid, and microwave for 2 minutes and 40 seconds, and let it steam for 3 minutes.
  11. If it's not cooked through, please increase the cooking time.
