Vanilla Cookies
- 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 12 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 12 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 2 12 cups all-purpose flour, sifted before measuring
- vanilla sugar (optional)
- Preheat oven to 375F.
- Combine butter and sugar in large bowl.
- Using electric mixer set on high speed, beat until light and fluffy.
- Beat in egg, vanilla extract, cardamom and salt.
- Using spoon, stir in flour until well mixed.
- Pack dough into cookie press.
- Fit with design plate.
- Press dough out onto ungreased baking sheets spacing cookies 1-inch apart.
- Bake until golden brown, about 10 minutes.
- Gently transfer cookies to wire racks.
- Sprinkle with vanilla sugar, if desired, and let cool.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
