Blushing Apple Or Rhubarb Dessert
- 1 1/4 c. flour
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 egg
- 1 Tbsp. milk
- sliced apples or cut-up rhubarb
- 3 oz. strawberry jello
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 c. flour
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. butter
- Mix with beater the 1 1/4 cups flour, 2 tablespoons sugar, baking powder, salt and butter; combine slightly beaten egg and milk; add to butter mixture and blend well.
- Press into 9 x 13-inch greased pan.
- Press sliced apples in dough overlapping (or cut up rhubarb).
- Mix with Jell-O, 1 tablespoon sugar and sprinkle over fruit.
- Cover with a topping of 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar and 1/2 cup butter, mixed until crumbly.
- Bake at 350u0b0 for 45 minutes or until edges are brown.
