Blushing Apple Or Rhubarb Dessert

  1. Mix with beater the 1 1/4 cups flour, 2 tablespoons sugar, baking powder, salt and butter; combine slightly beaten egg and milk; add to butter mixture and blend well.
  2. Press into 9 x 13-inch greased pan.
  3. Press sliced apples in dough overlapping (or cut up rhubarb).
  4. Mix with Jell-O, 1 tablespoon sugar and sprinkle over fruit.
  5. Cover with a topping of 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar and 1/2 cup butter, mixed until crumbly.
  6. Bake at 350u0b0 for 45 minutes or until edges are brown.
