Salisbury Steak With Onion Sauce Recipe
- 2 tbsp. salad oil
- 5 sm. onions, sliced
- 3 tbsp. soy sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1 1/2 c. water
- 1 1/2 lbs. grnd beef
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- Dash of garlic pwdr
- 1 tbsp. cornstarch
- 1/4 c. water
- In salad oil in medium skillet over medium heat, cook onions 2 min, stirring occasionally.
- Add in 1 1/2 c. water, soy sauce, and sugar.
- Bring to boil.
- Cook over medium heat 10 min or possibly till onions are tender.
- Dissolve cornstarch in 1/4 c. water, slowly stir into onions till sauce thickens.
- Set aside and keep hot.
- In medium bowl, mix grnd beef with salt and pepper.
- Shape into 4 or possibly 5 patties.
- Fry or possibly broil to desired doneness.
- Arrange patties on heated platter, then spoon on the onion sauce.
- Serve warm.
- Serves 4.
