Meltaway Cheese Rounds(Appetizers)
- 3/4 c. butter or margarine
- 3 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
- 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
- dash of salt
- 1 Tbsp. poppy seed or 2 tsp. paprika
- paprika or poppy seed for garnish (optional)
- Cream butter in food processor or mixer until light and fluffy. Add cheese, flour, salt and paprika or poppy seed.
- Form to a dough.
- Chill dough for about 2 hours.
- Shape dough into small even balls.
- Place on greased cookie sheet.
- Sprinkle with some extra paprika or poppy seed, if desired.
- Bake balls at 400u0b0 for about 10 minutes or until just baked through.
- The rounds should never get browned.
- Cool on the cookie sheet.
- Remove carefully.
- Store in airtight containers until ready to serve.
- When serving, reheat for a few minutes at 400u0b0 until slightly warm.
