Summer Strawberry Surprise

  1. Melt the 3 sticks of butter on medium heat, stirring often until it boils.
  2. While it is still bubbly, add the flour and 5 Tbsp. sugar -- keep stirring and cook for 3 more minutes.
  3. Let this mixture cool for a few minutes then spread onto an oblong cookie sheet.
  4. Pat down and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Let it completely cool.
  5. In the meantime, cream the powdered sugar and cream cheese; add vanilla.
  6. Fold in 3 cups of the Cool Whip. Spread on the cooled crust.
  7. Slice the strawberries; add a little sugar to sweeten the berries, and fold into the remaining Cool Whip.
  8. Spread on top of the creamed sugar/cream cheese mixture.
