Wasabi-Flavored Rice Balls with Tempura Crumbs, Sesame Salt, and Green Onions
- 1 rice bowl's worth Freshly cooked rice
- 2 heaping tablespoons Green onions (finely chopped)
- 2 tbsp Tempura crumbs
- 1 dash Mentsuyu
- 1 pinch Bonito flakes
- 1 Sesame salt
- 1 dash to adjust the texture of the rice, if necessary Hot water
- 1 dash Wasabi
- 2 tsp Grated cheese
- 1 Matcha
- Cut the green onions into small pieces.
- Soak the tempura crumbs in a bit of mentsuyu.
- If using a concentrated type, dilute it with water.
- Mix together the fresh rice, tempura crumbs, bonito flakes, and sesame salt in a bowl.
- Mix in the green onions and season to taste with the sesame salt and mentsuyu.
- Mix in the wasabi and powdered cheese.
- Roll into your desired shapes.
- I made round onigiri.
- Arrange on a plate to finish.
- I garnished them with matcha.
