Wasabi-Flavored Rice Balls with Tempura Crumbs, Sesame Salt, and Green Onions

  1. Cut the green onions into small pieces.
  2. Soak the tempura crumbs in a bit of mentsuyu.
  3. If using a concentrated type, dilute it with water.
  4. Mix together the fresh rice, tempura crumbs, bonito flakes, and sesame salt in a bowl.
  5. Mix in the green onions and season to taste with the sesame salt and mentsuyu.
  6. Mix in the wasabi and powdered cheese.
  7. Roll into your desired shapes.
  8. I made round onigiri.
  9. Arrange on a plate to finish.
  10. I garnished them with matcha.
