Steak and Onion Sandwiches

  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat; cook the onions until browned, tossing occasionally, 10 to 15 minutes.
  2. Season with salt and pepper; remove.
  3. Heat the remaining tablespoon of olive oil in the same skillet over high heat.
  4. Season the steaks with salt and pepper.
  5. Cook for 30 seconds on each side; remove.
  6. Add the Worcestershire sauce and 2 tablespoons water to the skillet, scraping up the browned bits with a wooden spoon.
  7. Return the onions to the skillet; toss.
  8. Sandwich the steak and onions between toasted country bread.
  9. Serve immediately.
