Almond Tortoni
- 2 cup whipping cream
- 1/4 cup amaretto
- 1/4 cup sifted confectioner's sugar
- 1/2 cup finely ground almonds, toasted
- 1 Toasted sliced almonds and maraschino cherries with stems for garnish
- Place a medium bowl and beaters from an electric mixer in freezer until well chilled.
- In chilled bowl, whip cream until soft peaks form.
- Gradually add confectioner's sugar and amaretto; beat until stiff peaks form.
- Fold in ground almonds.
- Spoon mixture into 12 paper lined muffin tins.
- Garnish with almond slices and cherries.
- Freeze until firm; cover.
- Remove from freezer about 15 minutes before serving.
