Almond Tortoni

  1. Place a medium bowl and beaters from an electric mixer in freezer until well chilled.
  2. In chilled bowl, whip cream until soft peaks form.
  3. Gradually add confectioner's sugar and amaretto; beat until stiff peaks form.
  4. Fold in ground almonds.
  5. Spoon mixture into 12 paper lined muffin tins.
  6. Garnish with almond slices and cherries.
  7. Freeze until firm; cover.
  8. Remove from freezer about 15 minutes before serving.
