Biscochos Syrian Cookies Recipe

  1. Combine shortening with sugar; add in salt, anise & cloves.
  2. Slowly add in this to flour, together with wine to create dough.
  3. Continue adding flour till dough does not stick to hands.
  4. Roll out about 1/8-inch thick & cut into squares.
  5. Bake for 10 min at 375 on cookie sheets.
  6. Remove from oven & roll in cinnamon-sugar mix while warm.
