Biscochos Syrian Cookies Recipe
- 2 c. Soft shortening
- 1/2 c. Granulated sugar
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 Tbsp. Anise
- 1/2 tsp Grnd cloves
- 5 c. Flour
- 1 c. Wine Cinnamon Sugar
- Combine shortening with sugar; add in salt, anise & cloves.
- Slowly add in this to flour, together with wine to create dough.
- Continue adding flour till dough does not stick to hands.
- Roll out about 1/8-inch thick & cut into squares.
- Bake for 10 min at 375 on cookie sheets.
- Remove from oven & roll in cinnamon-sugar mix while warm.
